I can still remember the moment when I first thought about the creation of a German School. It was on a journey through Cameroon. Since that journey not even one year has passed by and we have been able to achieve a whole lot. The thought of continuity fascinates me over and over again. With the foundation of the first German school in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon, we will take a leading role in the in the economic and political cooperation between Cameroon and Germany with such an innovative and holistic concept. Imagine the German school as a nucleus of the big picture. The school is the start of the development of a modern knowledge center “made in Germany” enabling the know-how transfer between Germany and Cameroon.

On the basis of a modern solar building concept widely ramified, synergies will arise enabling an independent development of Africa. For us, it is important to mention that we are not looking to provide “development aid”, but we believe in the “strength of Africa”. It is eventually time that the brand “made in Germany” is becoming a valuable export good again. The good reputation of German know-how and projects relies on the fact, that this country carries enormous knowledge and an excellent cooperation structure. If we can bundle this important value with the huge potential of Africa, a continent full of great economic opportunities, we can achieve something meaningful for future generations. Or as Goethe used to say: “It is not enough to have knowledge – you have to apply it. It is not enough willing to do something – you have to realize it.”
